She summarizes the three theories: corpuscular, which sees matter as composed of small material particles; non- material reality, in which the properties of matter are a consequence of immaterial forces that themselves comprise ultimate reality; and idealist, which claims that sensible objects and materials are but mental constructs. Those, she says, affect theories of the interaction of mind and matter and of conscious awareness. |
