MDTV Provides DIRECTV to 'Smart' Apartments

TOTOWA, N.J.- Oct. 2, 2001 - MDU Communications (USA) Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of MDU Communications International, Inc., has recently expanded its relationship with KSI Services, Inc., a leading Washington DC area residential developer, and entered into a marketing, installation and service agreement to provide private cable services and DIRECTV® digital satellite television services to Springfield Crossing, a 15 building, 347 unit 'Smart Living' apartment community in Springfield, Virginia. MDTV will be the preferred provider of television services to the property and the exclusive marketing partner with KSI Services, Inc. for these video services.

KSI Services is the leading real estate services provider in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, specializing in land development, planned communities, multi-family housing, commercial mixed-use and property management. This year, Builder Magazine and Professional Builder Magazine ranked KSI in the "Top 100" companies. "We are nearing the end of construction on the first phase of Springfield Crossing and MDTV is finalizing the installation of the private cable and DIRECTV system which we expect to have ready for resident move-in by the end of October," added Smith.

MDTV was previously selected by KSI to install DIRECTV services in its 360 unit, multi-building apartment community, Chantilly Crossing, in Chantilly, Virginia. Of the units currently occupied, the property penetration rate for MDTV service is over 60%.
