| DIRECTV Adds WPIX to its New York City Local Channel Package
El Segundo, CA, Jun 30, 2000 -- DIRECTV, Inc. announced today that it will add WPIX (WB) to its local channel lineup in the New York City designated market area (DMA). WPIX will be available to New York City DIRECTV customers subscribing to the local channel package starting Friday, June 30. Local channel service in the New York City DMA began in November 1999. With the addition of WPIX, DIRECTV customers in the New York City DMA now receive the following local channels via satellite:
DIRECTV customers in New York can subscribe to their local channel package for $5.99 per month. In addition to local broadcast network channels, a national PBS feed is included in each local channel package at no additional charge. Local channels are delivered to DIRECTV customers in New York from DIRECTV's primary
orbital slot at 101 degrees West Longitude. DIRECTV customers can receive their local
channels as well as DIRECTV's current lineup of national digital entertainment and
information programming through their existing set-top box and 18-inch antenna. |
