DISH Network Offers Local Channels in San Antonio

LITTLETON, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 2000-- EchoStar Communications Corporation is pleased to announce today that DISH Network(TM) will offer local KSAT-ABC (Ch. 12), KENS-CBS (Ch. 5), KMOL-NBC (Ch. 4), and KABB-FOX (Ch. 29) by satellite television to 26 counties in the greater metro area of San Antonio, Texas, beginning Oct. 3.

With the addition of San Antonio, DISH Network offers local channels via satellite TV to a total of 33 cities and their metro areas nationwide.

With final passage of satellite TV legislation by Congress last December, DISH Network can now provide cable customers an affordable and complete alternative by offering local ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX network channels for a package price of only $4.99 per month. A national PBS channel can be purchased for an additional $1 per month. DISH Network also plans to offer popular independent network channels in several markets.

DISH Network offers local channels to San Antonio in the following metro area counties: Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, De Witt, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Goliad, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, La Salle, Lavaca, Maverick, McMullen, Medina, Real, Uvalde, Val Verde, Wilson and Zavala.
