DISH Network Satellite Television Adds Five Public Interest ChannelsLITTLETON, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 19, 2000--EchoStar Communications Corporation. Customers can get Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (PAEC), The Early Childhood Network (TECN), California Community Colleges Satellite Network (CCN), Family Star Learning Network (FSLN) and Rural Farm Broadcasting TV (RFD TV) at no additional charge. EchoStar Communications Corporation, the nation's fastest-growing direct broadcast satellite television service with over 5 million customers announced that beginning Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, DISH Network(TM) substantially increased its public interest and educational programming offering to customers at no additional cost by adding five new public interest channels. These channels have been added to the 14 existing public interest channels for a total of 19 public interest channels offered at 119 degrees West Longitude, 110 degrees W.L. and 61.5 degrees W.L. orbital locations. Customers who have a dish antenna pointed at the 61.5 degrees W.L. orbital location can enjoy the Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (PAEC) and The Early Childhood Network (TECN). Customers who have a dish antenna pointed at the 110 degree W.L. orbital location can enjoy the California Community Colleges Satellite Network (CCN) and Family Star Learning Network (FSLN). Customers who have a dish antenna pointed at the 119 degree W.L. orbital location can enjoy Rural Farm Broadcasting TV (RFD TV).
Public interest programming is available to DISH Network customers 24 hours a day. DISH Network offers a diverse line-up of public interest channels that now includes: C-SPAN; Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN); LinkMedia; The NASA Channel; Universityhouse Channel/Northern Arizona University; Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN); University of California; Brigham Young University; HITN; PBS YOU; Research TV; Educating Everyone; Free Speech TV; Good Samaritan Network; Panhandle Area Educational Consortium; The Early Childhood Network; California Community Colleges Satellite Network; Family Star Learning Network; and Rural Farm Broadcasting. |
