DISH Network Launches New HDTV Channel

LITTLETON, Colo.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Sept. 27, 2000-- EchoStar Communications Corporation is excited to announce today that starting Saturday, Sept. 30, DISH Network(TM) will premiere the James Bond thriller, THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, on DISH-On-Demand pay-per-view in high-definition television for only $5.99!

DISH-On-Demand's HDTV channel, 9428, can be accessed by customers who have a satellite dish pointed at the 61.5 degrees West Longitude orbital location. Customers who use DISH Network's Model 6000 satellite television receiver (DISH HD) or a model 5000 satellite television receiver with an HD modulator can purchase movies for $5.99 each.

HDTV technology provides customers with greater resolution and a more clearly defined, sharper image. With its wide screen 16:9 ratio format and Dolby Digital sound, DISH-On-Demand's HD pay-per-view channel helps create a theater-like presentation. Other movies premiering on DISH-On-Demand HD are SUPERNOVA on Oct. 14 and THE NINTH GATE on Oct. 24.

DISH Network also offers one channel of HBO and one channel of Showtime in HDTV. Both are available with the purchase of HBO The Works Package for $11.99 per month or the Showtime Unlimited Package for $10.99 per month.
