DISH Network Offers Local Channels in Birmingham

Littleton, Colo., May 7, 2001 – DISH Network™  is pleased to announce that beginning Thursday, May 17, it will offer local WJSU-ABC (Ch. 40), WIAT-CBS (Ch. 42), WVTM-NBC (Ch. 13) and WBRC-FOX (Ch. 6) by satellite television to 20 counties in the greater metro area of Birmingham, Ala. With the addition of Birmingham, DISH Network will offer local channels via satellite TV to a total of 36 cities and their metro areas nationwide.

DISH Network provides cable customers an affordable and complete alternative by offering local ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX network channels for a package price of only $4.99 per month. A national PBS channel can be purchased for an additional $1 per month.

DISH Network will offer local channels to Birmingham and the following 20 metro-area counties: Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cullman, Etowah, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Marion, Pickens, St. Clair, Shelby, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston.

Birmingham’s local stations are available on DISH Network channels 715 (WJSU-ABC), 740 (WIAT-CBS), 765 (WVTM-NBC) and 790 (WBRC-FOX).
